is also the MDC-T chief of staff was yesterday still in police custody and assisting with investigations.
He is expected to appear in court soon facing charges under the Domestic Violence Act.
Chief police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Wayne Bvudzijena confirmed the arrest and said investigations were still in progress.
“His arrest comes after his wife Eunice Kapandura made a report to the police in Mabelreign that she was assaulted by her husband.
“Police responded and he (Nyanguwo) was arrested and detained for further investigations,” he said.
Snr Asst Comm Bvudzijena said Kapandura alleged that at about 2000hours at Marbelreign Country Club, Nyanguwo assaulted her after she found him with a girlfriend.
“She sustained minor bruises on her body and investigations are still in progress,” he said.
This is not the first time that senior MDC-T officials have bee implicated in adulterous relationships.
In November 2010 MDC-T suspended and launched an investigation on a case involving its director general Toendepi Shonhe and an employee in the information department who were caught pants down at a Bulawayo hotel.
Shonhe and Sandra Mutsimba were caught by a man reported to be the latter’s husband.
After being caught, Shonhe reportedly descended on the said “husband”, thoroughly beating him up before the “husband”s friend and hotel staff intervened and restrained him.
Shonhe was arrested and detained at Bulawayo Central and was released after paying a fine.
