But her aunt told her that she should not complain because she was now Kanzonza’s wife.
Kanzonzi appeared before Chinhoyi magistrate Mr Funny Nyakudya facing rape charges and was remanded in custody to January 11.
Prosecutor Ms Farai Zakaria alleged that in December last year the teenager went to her aunt’s house in Banket from Norton en-route to Guruve to look after her ailing aunt.
When she asked for bus fare to Guruve, Kanzonza said he would give her the money the following day.
The girl slept in one of the bedrooms and Kanzonza sneaked into her blankets while naked.
He tried to force himself on the girl, but she screamed for help but no one was forthcoming as the other children had been sent to sleep in a garage several metres from the house.
The girl managed to escape to the sitting room before Kanzonza retired to his bedroom.
The following morning she narrated her ordeal to her aunt, but she told her that her uncle was now her husband.
The following night, Kanzonza again sneaked into the girl’s blankets and raped her after declaring that she was now his wife.
Kanzonza raped the girl repeatedly from December until March 2011 when she went to Guruve.
The girl reported the matter to her father.
