Pop musician Kim reveals project

Shingirirayi Mugodi
AFRO pop musician, Kim Makumbe, has revealed the project she is working on.

“I am an active participant of the Scripts and Bars programme.

“This is a next level digital content creation stimulus project delivered by Kay Media Africa Zimbabwe, in collaboration with Reprezent from UK, Comexposed, Khura Agency and Page Poetry Alive, supported by the British Council Cultural Economy programme and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

“With their support, I have a huge upcoming project called Body which, in a nutshell, is about body positivity in women.

“I will share more details when it is about to come out,” she said.

The diva said she is hoping to help a lot of people through her work.

“With the body positivity project I am hoping that it would reach out to a lot of people.

“With my music and the deep lyrics I hope a lot of people can relate and be helped by it.

“I have a big support system and they help in pushing my work forward.

“There is an American record label that helps push my music forward and I am really appreciative of that,” Kim said.

She said she sings a variety of genres.

“I am an experimental pop musician.

“My main focus is any modern genre and other genres that are not known yet.

“I am yet to discover which one is best suited for me.

“I have been basically singing all my life but professionally I started singing in 2019.

“I chose music because it is not only an art, it is also a passion that I have had for a long time.

“I can address how I feel and other issues I feel need addressing when I sing and that helps me a lot.

“I have a few challenges, yes, but they are not linked to being in an industry that is male dominated,” she told H-Metro.
