Poverty alleviation and eradication remain Zanu PF’s top priority with that party already having set in motion programmes that will ensure the country meets the Sustainable Development Goal to improve the lives of the population, Zanu PF Secretary for Indigenisation and Economic Affairs Dr Mike Bimha has said.
Speaking at the virtual 2021 interactive discussions between Zanu PF and the Communist Party of China (CPC), Dr Bimha said Zanu PF is working towards the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals as it is committed to transforming the livelihoods of its people.
The meeting was organised by the CPC.
“Poverty alleviation for the people’s wellbeing will remain at the forefront of the development agenda both to accelerate progress and set goals for the post-2019 period.
“For the attainment of the MDGs, the reality of sanctions which have been felt through the economic depression of the Zimbabwean populace and continue to paralyze the nation’s ability to tape its own resources must be removed,” he said.
The 2021 interactive discussions between the two revolutionary parties were held under the theme “For the People’s wellbeing: the practice of the ruling parties in China and Zimbabwe”.
