Power outages disrupt court operations

POWER outages today disrupted court operations, especially regional one at the Harare Magistrates Court as the building has no electricity back-up facility.

Regional and Special Anti-Corruption courts utilise recording facilities which require electricity.

There has been no electricity at the court since morning.

Provincial courts, which do not utilise recording facilities, were operating normally starting at 8.30am.

This is not the first time business at the Harare Magistrates Courts has been affected by unavailability of electricity.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) manages the court building.
