The two-year break was to find out what Preacherman’s calling was.
In an interview yesterday, Preacherman said during the two years he had been reading and researching to find his destiny.
He said youth ministry was his calling.
“I am inclined to the youth ministry and I want the youth to have music that they can identify with. I want to help them see the light and come to God in the days of their youth,” said Preacherman.
The gospel-rap artiste said he had already been invited to sing at different gospel concerts and church conferences.
“My sabbatical proved to be a good thing because I now have direction and I have been invited to gospel concerts and church conferences to minister to the youth or the young at heart,” said Preacherman.
He said gospel-rap was a good genre because the lyrics praised God, albeit over a funky beat.
“I know some people have misgivings over the word rap and especially when you use it to say gospel-rap.
“The music is rhythm and poetry that is over a funky beat that identifies with the youth. So I do not see what is wrong when you are praising God,” said Preacherman.
He said before the end of the year he will have released a gospel album.
“I have not yet gone into the studio but the rap album will be out before the Christmas period. I have written over 15 songs for the album and I will work with Dj Face who worked with me for my last album,” said Preacherman.
He said for the album, The Rock No Other Way, he will do a live DVD recording with the youth of his church.
“There are six tracks I will do a live DVD recording for and this will be done with the youth of the church. This will be to bless and minister to all the people who want to have the album,” said Preacherman.
