Tinashe Murisi, appearing before magistrate Sheunesu Matova asked for protection from Gladys Nyathias wrath.

He claimed Nyathi was in the habit of insulting and threatening him with suicide whenever he moved to dissolve their three-year-old relationship.

a?I had been in a relationship with Gladys Nyathi for three years despiteAAAA that I am legally married with four children.

a?I decided to terminate the relationship due to her violent behaviour towards me and my family. Nyathi is in the habit of damaging my property and tearing my clothes in public.

a?Sometime in January this year she damaged my vehicle before she took away the keys when I told her I was terminating our relationship due to her violent behaviour.

a?She has also on several occasions threatened to commit suicide by throwing herself in front of my vehicle,a? said Murisi.

He repeatedly said his lover was the cause of misery in his family.

In response, Nyathi had no kind words for Murisi saying she was the one actually abusing him.

a?He is the one who is disturbing my peace by physically assaulting me. All cases of violence he levelled against me were in self defence as he would be the one to have first assaulted me,a? she said.

About the car fracas, she said it was an attention seeking stunt.

a?This incident (car) occurred because I wanted his attention. I am pregnant and he is the one responsible for the pregnancy,a? she said.

The magistrate granted the protection order which orders Nyathi not to verbally and physically abuse her lover.
