RESURGENT Triangle FC have promised fans a good game when they play host to How Mine in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League encounter to be played at Gibbo Stadium in Triangle tomorrow. Coach Gishon Ntini said the fact that both teams are enjoying a purple patch will make the match more exciting.
“We are playing well at the moment and How Mine is also doing well. They beat one of the biggest clubs on Sunday and that means they are bubbling with confidence,” he said.
How Mine posted a shock result last week when they beat Dynamos 1-0 at Luveve Stadium.
Simba Sithole a national team trialist scored the all-important goal for the Philani Mabhena and Philani Ncube coached outfit.
Triangle on the other side continued with good results away from home when they beat Black Mambas 1-0 at Morris Depot in Harare.
David Maketo Sengu was on target from the spot against the police side.
Ntini said his charges were aware of the importance of the match and he vowed that they would give it the best shot.
“Everyone in our camp knows the significance of this game. We want to maintain our winning streak and we really need the three points. How Mine are above us on the log but we are not going to read much into that,” he said.
Ntini said he would not take any chances as he is aware of their fans’ expectations.
He said the team’s fans are starting to appreciate the challenges in the PSL and would strive to please them by collecting maximum points.
“I am happy that the fans are slowly appreciating the challenges in the PSL.
“We have to repay their appreciation by collecting the three points on Sunday. What I urge them to do is to rally behind the team even when the chips are down,” he said.
Triangle have enough arsenal which can see them beating any team especially at Gibbo Stadium.
They boast one of the most exciting midfielders in the Premiership Lameck Nhamo, defender David Sengu, defensive linkman Leo Kurauzvione, tear-away striker Limited Chikafa.
On their day they can deliver.
Ntini who seems to have won back the fans and executive’s confidence by collecting seven points from a target of six set by his bosses cannot afford to lose.
However, he was quick to admit that the miners are a good side who can upset them.
“It would be folly to dismiss How Mine because they have what it takes to upset us. It is only that we have prepared well and promise fireworks,” he said.
His counterpart, How Mine gaffer, Philani Mabhena admitted that their opponents were tricky customers, especially when playing in their own backyard.
“We are prepared for the game and I believe the players will give a good account of themselves. We know Triangle are a difficult side that even the seasoned campaigners have struggled to beat on their home turf,” said Mabhena.
He said he would bank on team work and all players will give their best.
“I am a firm believer in team work that all the 11 players will fight for the team to win. No one can be singled out as above the rest. We look forward to winning in Chiredzi,” he said.
The miners will be without Sithole who is away with the national team in Zambia.
They have the dependable Herbert Dick who can also score.
The two teams met at Luveve Stadium and the miners won the match 2-1.
