PROSPECT Lithium Zimbabwe on Friday donated an assortment of groceries to the elderly in Goromonzi, as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility, ahead of this year’s Heroes’ Day commemorations.

Speaking at the event, Prospect Lithium public relations manager Mrs Rugare Dhobbie said: “Today is an important day in the calendar of Prospect Lithium because we are honouring the elderly in our community, as it is the month of August, when the heroes of this country are honoured.

“Prospect Lithium is joining the nation in honouring heroes by giving the elderly groceries as an honour for their spearheading of the Goromonzi community.” Goromonzi Ward 13 councillor Mr Never Gotoro appreciated Prospect Lithium’s consistent contribution to the community. “We are grateful for the gesture shown today by Prospect Lithium. We have seen the creation of employment for the local people,” he said.“They rehabilitated Vhuta Primary School and Mwanza Primary School, and built a police base, among other things, within a short space of time.

“Goromonzi residents are very happy, and we hope this grows into a long-lasting relationship.”
