PSG boss says Neymar call out of his hands

LONDON. New PSG boss Christophe Galtier has admitted that he is keen to keep Neymar at the club, but insisted the final decision does not solely rest in his hands.

Galtier replaced the sacked Mauricio Pochettino in the hot seat, and quickly laid down the law to his squad by saying those not in his plans will be sold.

However, superstar Neymar is likely to feature heavily again next season – although where he will be playing his football will be down to the hierarchy.

Manchester City defender Oleksander Zinchenko is expected to join Arsenal for around £35million at the start of next week.

Personal terms are not expected to be a problem for the Ukraine international who will become Arsenal’s fifth summer signing.

His departure will accelerate City’s bid for Brighton defender Marc Cucurella.

Brentford striker Ivan Toney has reportedly emerged as a target for Newcastle after the club walked away from trying to sign Hugo Ekitike.

The North-East side have been linked with Ekitike since January, but the Frenchman opted to turn down a move to St James’ Park at the start of the year.

Negotiations also stalled when Newcastle reignited their interest this summer.

As a result, they have decided to look elsewhere, with Toney on their radar.

Manchester United are ready to wait until the final day of the summer transfer window to sign Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong, according to reports.

The Dutch star is Erik ten Hag’s top target as he looks to overhaul his squad after a hugely disappointing season.

And as reported by the Mirror, Ten Hag, 52, is not giving up and is willing to hold out until the last second to sign the gifted central midfielder.

Manchester City have no intention of selling Bernardo Silva this summer, reports say, despite a rumoured move to Barcelona.

The 27-year-old midfielder joined the Etihad club in 2017 and has since won an astonishing eight major trophies in five years.

He played 35 times in City’s Premier League winning side last year and was named in the PFA team of the year.

Armando Broja’s move to West Ham is set to proceed as a loan with Chelsea reluctant to sell the 20-year-old striker this summer.

The Hammers were ready to negotiate a fee for Broja who scored nine goals on loan at Southampton last season but accept Chelsea’s position.

They are willing to take the Albania international for an initial 12 months and see if they can make the deal permanent after that. Chelsea’s stance indicates they haven’t given up on Broja being able to make it at Stamford Bridge. Tall and technically capable, he has been limited to one first-team appearance at Chelsea so far but impressed during spells at Vitesse and at St Mary’s.

West Ham also want a left-back and have submitted a bid for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca but that doesn’t affect Broja going to the London Stadium.

Oliver Kahn has claimed that Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt is eager to sign for Bayern Munich.

Kahn, who is the CEO of Bayern, suggested that the player is keen to complete a move that has been long in the making.

According to reports, talks have already taken place between the two clubs.

Frenkie de Jong has travelled with Barcelona for pre-season in Miami, with Man United still scrambling to sign him.

The midfielder is determined to stay at his current club, despite them agreeing a £63million fee plus £8.5m in add-ons.

This one is set to rumble on for quite some time. Mailonline.
