PSL coach in bribe rap

Chapungu have suspended assistant coach Clement Mugari for alleging that FC Platinum bribe referees following his sideas 1-0 loss at Mandava Stadium last Saturday.

Incensed by a late penalty awarded to FC Platinum by referee Ruzive Ruzive, which was duly converted by Winston Mhango to separate the two teams, Mugari went ballistic after the match.

He refused to shake the hand of FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza, after the match while ranting that their opponents were in the habit of bribing match officials to influence results.

The PSL on Monday asked Mugari to prove his claims and said they could charge Mugari if he failed to back his utterances.

Chapungu however moved in to suspend Mugari. Cub chief executive Chris Levie Mukotekwa said they had suspended Mugari as they had also opened an inquiry on his remarks.

a?We have suspended Mr Mugari as well also wait for the PSL to do their investigations. We are also carrying out our own investigations,a? Mukotekwa said.

a?As a club we were shocked by Mr Mugarias utterances. We would like to categorically state that what he said are his own views and not of Chapungu. We do not condone such conduct because Chapungu is a club that thrives on paramount discipline.a?

The PSL is likely toA charge him with bringing the game of football into disrepute. – supersport.com .
