PSL condemns misconduct at matches

THE Premier Soccer League (NPL) has condemned various acts of misconduct at some of its recent matches.

In a statement, the PSL said they have noted with concern incidents of missile throwing and pitch invasion. The PSL said such behaviour will not be tolerated and necessary measures will be taken to curb the incidents.
“We wish to remind clubs and football supporters that such behaviour constitutes an act of misconduct and will not be tolerated. The PSL will take all necessary measures, in accordance with our rules and regulations to curb these incidents. The safety and security of players, officials and supporters remains our top priority. Football is a family sport and we are committed to ensuring that matches are played in a safe, secure and enjoyable environment.”

The PSL called on clubs to educate their fans on acceptable behaviour to avoid acts of misconduct.
“We urge clubs to continue to educate their supporters on acceptable conduct and to take proactive steps in maintaining order during matches. We further call upon all fans to demonstrate discipline, fair play and respect for the game so that football continues to unite and inspire our communities,” read the statement.
