PSL matchday 18: Saturday fixtures in focus

CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) matchday 18 action serves up a number of intriguing fixtures this afternoon, with crucial points up for grabs across the country as the race for honours and survival gathers momentum.

At Mandava Stadium, FC Platinum host fellow platinum miners Ngezi Platinum Stars in what is expected to be a fiercely contested match. Both sides are eager to strengthen their positions on the table, with FC Platinum looking to make home advantage count against a Ngezi side capable of causing problems on its day.

Simba Bhora face another stern examination when they welcome Manica Diamonds to Wadzanayi Stadium. Simba Bhora continue to carry the weight of expectation, but Manica Diamonds have proved to be stubborn opponents and will fancy their chances of pulling off a positive result away from home.

One of the most interesting fixtures of the day takes place at Ngoni Stadium where MWOS take on FC Hunters.
Bulawayo fans will turn their attention to Barbourfields Stadium where Chicken Inn host Herentals College. The GameCocks will be aiming to build momentum against a Herentals side that has consistently demonstrated its ability to compete against the league’s top teams.

Meanwhile, traditional giants Dynamos entertain TelOne at Rufaro Stadium in a fixture that promises plenty of excitement. DeMbare remain under pressure to deliver consistent results, while TelOne arrive with confidence after holding Bulawayo Chiefs to a draw in their previous outing. With both teams desperate for maximum points, an entertaining contest could be on the cards.
