Puff n’ Pass…Man sends kids on drug errands

A Bulawayo man is in the eye of a storm amid accusations that he was allegedly sending his children to purchase drugs for him.

The Bulawayo Civil Court was told of how Ngqabutho Ngwenya from Cement Siding introduced his children to drugs.

This was revealed by his wife Siphathisiwe Ngwenya who was seeking a protection order against him claiming he was abusive especially whenever she reprimanded him not to send their children to buy drugs.

a?I am married to Ngqabutho Ngwenya under the Marriages Act Chapter 5:11 and our marriage is blessed with three children and is still subsisting. But my husband is abusive towards me especially when I question him about his behaviour and conduct for example when he misappropriated burial society funds, building material and sending our children to buy him drugs.

a?On 15 July he assaulted me with fists when I confronted him about the phone calls and text messages I was receiving from two women. He also threatened to strike me with an iron rod and bricks. I am now living in fear as a result of his abusive behaviour,a? complained Siphathisiwe.

She said her husband was also in the habit of disappearing from home for some days adding that he should not involve her in his affairs with other women.

In response, Ngqabutho didnat dispute his wifeas accusations and instead asked for forgiveness from both her and the court.

a?I am very sorry for my actions and can she (Siphathisiwe) forgive me,a? an apologetic Ngqabutho tersely responded.

In his judgment, the presiding magistrate Tinashe Tashaya ordered Ngqabutho not to assault, insult and emotionally abuse his wife.

And in a bid to save their marriage which is apparently on the brink of collapse, he referred the couple for counselling.
