RELATIVES of a woman, whose former husband is demanding back the R1,6 million he splashed for their lobola and marriage celebrations, are now seeking a truce with the South Africa-based businessman.
Shepherd Chipatiko’s marriage with Varaidzo Marlyn Kunze collapsed in December last year and he is also suing her for R15 000 for defaming him.
Following the publication of the article in H-Metro yesterday, the relatives, through Varaidzo’s brother, Advocate Ropafadzo Kunze, wrote to Shepherd seeking a ceasefire and called for peaceful negotiations.
In the letter addressed to Shepherd, Kunze wrote:
“Ini ndinoitwa vaKunze, Advocate Ropafadzo Kunze. Ndinotenda murikuchengetwa naMwari.
“Ndauyawo ndakazvityora nekuisa huso pasi uye ndakamirira mhuri yese na mhamha (Mai Bhosha) varikurwara ne BP nenyaya iyi.
“We saw a post on Facebook. As a family, we hope that Varaidzo might have wronged you.
“As a family, kana pane pakakanganiswa ne mwana wedu we sincerely apologise.
“You came to marry and we were happy. We welcomed you the way you came. If you have issues, we sit down and talk and we mend the differences.
“If it was possible kana pane zviri kunetsa totaura sevanhu vakuru uye togara pasi zvogadziriswa.
“Kana pane zviri kukanganiswa na Varaidzo zvogadziriswa nekumutsiura zvakare. Taikumbirisawo semhuri.”
Ropafadzo added:
“We respect you as we already had done kukugamuchirai pamakauya mumhuri ndosaka tauya kuzotaura nemi kudai.
“Mhamha (Mai Bhosha) varikukumbirisawo semwana wavo wavakagamuchira uye wavanoda chaizvo.
“If we are no longer relatives, kutadzirana kuri muvanhu, Varaidzo tomutsiura anogona akakukanganisirai zvikuru.
“We thank you, when you took our child, makadadisa chose kana hukama hwakapera zvinoitwawo mune zvakanaka Mukwasha.
“We advised Varaidzo not to talk to you and not to write or post anything with your name on social media.
“We also advised her to stay away from social media.”
The relatives said Varaidzo was ready to play her part in resolving the crisis.
