Rapper determined to make it

ZIM Hip Hop artist, Spencer “Merklyn” Madzingaidzo, says he is determined to succeed, despite facing challenges, in his journey.

The 34-year-old Highfield-based rapper is set to release a new single, which narrates his story, on July 23.

Aptly named Bounce, the single is off his forthcoming project titled Life in the Cypher Volume One Mixtape.

The animation video to the song was done by Flame Studio while the mixtape is set for release in November.

Speaking to H Metro, Merklyn said: “The song samples Southern Hospitality instrumental by American Rapper Ludacris, which was produced by The Neptunes.

“I recorded the song with Chronicles & Genius Records.

“The song is about me coming to my element to make it, no matter the situation, or what naysayers say.

“I am in this music to get what I believe, what I deserve, and I am getting it no matter what.”

He added: “I am unapologetically myself.

“ I don’t live for people but live to get what I believe is rightfully mine. I was inspired by family, friends and some fans who like my music to take my music persona a step further.”

Merklyn has other songs like Cool Breeze, Could It Be and Hupenyu Hwemubhero.
