RARE JANUARY RUFARO TREAT FOR MUSIC FANS

HUNDREDS of music revellers enjoyed a rare January treat on Saturday during the launch of SWAN cigarettes at Rufaro Stadium.

Dubbed the ‘Harare Edition’ the musical extravaganza featured several artists like sungura superstar Alick Macheso, Winky D, Khonangale, Silent Killer, Poptain, Bazooker, Master H, Kinnah, Nisha T, Saintfloew, Darula, Mcdrot and DJ Fantan and Level.

Darula, who was the first act, proved that she is turning into a fine artist with a flawless show.

She proved that it was not going to be just a boys’ night and that she deserved her place on this line-up.

Master H, with a flashy outfit, left the crowd clamouring for more in what was probably one of his best performances on stage. His stage communication, interaction and, of course, his body language, proved that he meant business.

Master H has a special way of connecting with the crowd and his sing-along tracks like Nawanadem Remix, Too Good and Zvoendwa were huge hits with the fans. The crowd went wild when he brought Bazooka onto the stage.

Fans sang along to most of the songs from his playlist.

Winky D was also a hit with the fans when he performed songs like Dai and Gafa Life. He took fans down memory lane with his yesteryear hits such as “Musarove Bigman” and the response from the crowd showed that the songs have managed to stand the test of time.

After Winky D’s fine performance, sungura king Alick Macheso came onto the stage and took the show to another level. The launch also included two exciting football matches.

The Dynamos and CAPS United Legends featured in a bruising showdown which was followed by an entertaining clash between Zim Musicians Select versus a Legends Select.

The SWAN team also played against Star FM.

The new cigarettes were received well by those who attended.
