Raymond Moyo memorial tourney set for Luveve High

FIREWORKS, a social football team affiliated to the Bulawayo Social Soccer League, will today stage the second edition of the Raymond Moyo Memorial Tournament.
Ray, as Moyo was affectionately known, died aged 27 in a road accident along Siyephambili Drive in Richmond in 2012. Two other occupants survived the crash.

“He was a good example for his peers through his discipline and commitment to the values of fair play. We miss him,” said Fireworks president and benefactor, Naison Mushonga.

Four teams are lined up to take part in the tourney and they include hosts and past winners, Fireworks, Mabutweni, Chikwata FC and Glenkara. The tournament will be held at Luveve High School Grounds.

The matches, which have the full blessing of the BSSL, will kick off at 11AM. Moyo’s parents, among other dignitaries, will grace the occasion.
