Raza geared up for start of Caribbean Premier League with Trinbago Knight Riders

ZIMBABWEAN all rounder, Sikandar Raza is eager to begin his Caribbean Premier League with three-time champions Trinbago Knight Riders when the cricket tournament starts on Tuesday.


Raza left Zimbabwe for the Caribbean at the end of July and was of the CPL players who were tested for the coronavirus in early August, with of all them testing negative, paving the way for start of the league on Tuesday. All the matches in the CPL will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, a multi-purpose stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago.

Raza’s team face Guyana Amazon Warriors in the opening match of this year’s CPL.

Trinbago Knight Riders, coached by New Zealander Brendon McCullum are the most successful team in the history of the CPL since the tournament started in 2013 as they have been champions in 2015, 2017 and 2018.

West Indies all rounder, Kieron Pollard is the captain of the Knight Riders who also have Dwayne Bravo, Sunile Narine, Darren Bravo and Lendl Simmons as the other notable stars.
