Redwing Mine sitting pretty at the top

PENHALONGA-based Redwing Mine climbed to the top of the zifa Manicaland Division Two Soccer League season after beating Watermark 1-0 at home.They upstaged former log leaders, Claremont, who dropped crucial points after losing to Chiwere United 2-1. Last weekend’s results were a tale of mixed fortunes with most powerhouses losing their matches.

Nhedziwa and AK 47 lost their respective matches, with the former losing 0-1 to Chikobvore Stars, while AK47 lost to Eastern Highlands by 3-4.

Chiwere is now second on the log, while Africa Trust is in third after beating Sisal Stars 1-0. Claremont, after the shock defeat to Redwing Mine is now on position five with six points. Watermark and Eastern Highlands are on positions seven and eight respectively with four points apiece.

AK 47 and Chikobvore are all tied on three points and occupy positions three and four respectively.

Sisal Stars are anchoring the log and have not yet registered a win since the beginning of the season. They have lost all three matches they have in played so far.

This weekend, log leaders travel to Chikobvore Stars, while Sisal Stars will be hoping to clinch their first win of the season when they host Eastern Highlands.

AK 47 vs Watermark, Claremont vs ZRP Mutare, Sisal Stars vs Eastern Highlands, Midway vs Chiwere United, Nhedziwa United vs The Africa Trust, Redwing Mine vs Chikobvore Stars.
