The clinic’s managing director, Ms Monica Moyo, said yesterday that the facility would open its doors in April.
“We have secured an operating license from the local authority and we are now in the process of finalising registration with the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare,” she said.
The clinic will be in ward four and will cater for the Mugaladivha, Matshiloni, Gongwe, Joko communities and neighboring resettlement areas.
“We will also cater for the in-transit population using the Beitbridge-Masvingo Road in the event of traffic accidents,” Ms Moyo said.
At present villagers from ward four rely on Tongwe Clinic, which is some 20km away.
The clinic will have a registered doctor, two nurses, two nurse aides and a general hand.
“We will mainly be treating minor ailments, offer counseling, maternal health services and post-natal care and family planning services,” Ms Moyo said.
Ward four councillor Khensani Moyo welcomed the development, saying: “The clinic was long overdue because villagers in my ward were forced to walk several kilometers to Tongwe seeking medical assistance.”
