Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank (ZWMB) will be mobile across the province’s districts to allow for women in remote areas to acquire loans to finance their projects.

This comes after complaints from rural women that there is a gap between them and their urban counterparts in accessing the bank’s services as it is only located in Mutare in the province.

Addressing the ZANU PF Women’s League leadership in Chimanimani this afternoon, the party’s provincial Women’s League chairperson for Manicaland Cde Happiness Nyakuedzwa said the bank will go mobile with the aim of funding 50 female-led projects per district.

“We heard your cries and approached the bank. The President then injected a lot of money into the bank, money that is meant to finance hundreds of projects within the province. Take advantage of that opportunity,” she said.

ZANU PF Women’s League national Secretary for Administration Cde Monica Mutsvangwa, who is also Information, Broadcasting and Publicity Minister,  urged women to open accounts with the bank.

“A lot of money was injected by the President because he knew that a healthy household is a healthy business and that immediately translates to a healthy nation and it’s economy,” she said.
