A RUWA family is desperate for any information that may lead them to know the whereabouts of their missing teenage son.
He disappeared last Saturday.
Tapera Serema (14) went missing after her maternal aunt ordered him to follow her to church in the same neighbourhood.
Serema was doing his Grade Six at Cliff College, in the same area.
It is believed that, immediately after his aunt left, he followed her heading towards the church.
What happened along the way is not known.
“His uncle saw him walking in the same direction where her aunt had headed.
“I was later contacted by my sister asking if he was at my place since they were not finding him,” said the mother.
She said after searching everywhere, they realised the lad had gone missing.
“We searched for him at friends’ places and even at his school and all these efforts were fruitless,” she said.
The mother said they then lodged a police report for a missing person.
She admitted that her child was naughty but he wasn’t the kind of boy who could run away from home.
Cliff College Head, Mr Muza, concurred with the mother.
“Some of his friends said he once admired being a street kid or an illegal gold-panner (makorokoza),” Muza said.
He urged parents to continuously monitor their children’s behaviour.
Muza also urged residents to notify the parents, or the police, with information which might help to locate Tapera.
His mother can be contacted on 0775 792 938.
