The welfare of traders including safe modern working spaces remains Government’s top priority, Women Affairs Community Small and Medium Enterprises Development Minister Monica Mutsvangwa has said.
Addressing traders in Mbare at the groundbreaking ceremony and handover of the alternative market site for Mbare traders by Local Government and Public Works Minister Daniel Garwe, Minister Mutsvangwa urged traders to get insurance in case of calamities.
Minister Mutsvangwa said the fast-tracking of the construction of the Mbare Traders Market is aimed at improving their welfare.
“This move, of making sure that we immediately create an alternative market for Mbare traders will go a long way in ending prostitution, drug abuse, and most importantly poverty,” she said.
