Word doing the rounds in the city are that the modelling instructor fell ill on one of her visits to her husband in Harare a few months ago and he is alleged to have bought a blanket for her and booked her a trip on a “chicken bus”.
It is alleged that Sibanda reneged on his wedding vows that he was going to be by her side “in sickness and in health”, when Mpofu was down and out for quite a long time.
Saturday Leisure caught up with the actress who however refuted the rumours and insisted that nothing of that sort ever happened.
“Ah, I am so surprised because there is no such a thing. It’s people who want us to part ways but we are very much in love.
“I can even show you my messages and call log, we are still happily married,” she said showing this reporter her mobile phone.
Sarah said she was surprised that there were such people who were peddling lies about her love life.
“ Sibanda and I are still together, its only that we have a lot of commitments but I can tell you that we were together in Harare last week when I had gone to attend the Miss Universities pageant.
“We are mature people we do not have to act like teenagers,” said the proud modelling groomer.
In a telephone interview from his Harare base, Sibanda laughed the rumour off saying it was a joke.
“Honestly this must be a joke, where did you hear this, it is not true,” said Sibanda laughing.
Sibanda and Mpofu tied the knot in 2010.
Mpofu is the director of Fingers Modelling Agency which has produced a galaxy of models some of whom have won the Miss Zimbabwe pageant among other notable pageants in and out of the country.
Tashy, as she is affectionately known in the social circles, was earlier this year ruled out of the play Sinners because of ill health.
