SCOTTLAND STUN BOSSO WITH BILLIAT MAGIC: Highlanders trail at the break

SCOTTLAND have taken control of the Chibuku Super Cup quarter-final at Barbourfields Stadium, leading Highlanders 2-1 at the break.

Kingsley Mureremba, a last-minute inclusion after Fredrick Ansah Botchway reportedly fell ill, opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a sensational long-range strike that left the Bosso defense flat-footed. The damage was doubled in the 33rd minute when Khama Billiat unleashed a stunning shot from the edge of the box, sending the visiting fans into raptures.

Highlanders pulled one back quickly, though, as Learnmore Muyambo powered a header past Talbert Shumba in the 37th minute to keep Bosso alive in the tie.

Scottland had early chances through Mthokozisi Msebe and Moses Shidolo, but both efforts went wide or were deflected.

Bosso’s new signing Martin Nhubu almost turned the tide when he set up Benjami Odeogun, but Shumba was equal to the challenge.

Godknows Murwira’s free-kick in the 25th minute was expertly dealt with by Arthur Ndlovu, while Odeogun’s late first-half effort was calmly gathered by Shumba.
The second half promises more fireworks as Highlanders hunt for an equalizer while Scottland look to extend their lead.
