IN a sickening act, a Hwange woman has been arrested for killing her disabled daughter, blaming shame and gossip from neighbours for her cruel crime!
Melody Mwiinde (23) is accused of hanging her six-year-old child with an electrical cable from a tree branch at Mujimba 9, Siabuwa, on 23 April 2025.
In a shocking confession to police, Mwiinde said community ridicule and the father’s abandonment pushed her to commit the heartless act. After ending the little girl’s life, she reportedly dumped the body in a disused hut — hoping to hide her shame.
Police swooped in quickly after the horrific discovery, and Mwiinde now faces murder charges.
This tragic case has sent shockwaves across the country, sparking outrage and sorrow over the cruel treatment of children living with disabilities.
No excuse for murder. No excuse for hate.
