THE husky-voiced and self-proclaimed dancehall father Romeo “Shinsoman” will have to prove why he is one of the most-sought-after and arguably one of the best dancehall artistes in the country when he faces Mutare fans at The Platinum tomorrow (Saturday). He will perform at the popular entertainment centre alongside love specialist and talented composer Trevor Dongo.
The two youthful artistes will have face a litmus test to fill the spacious venue to capacity just like their predecessors, Jah Prayzah and Soul Jah Love, who drew hundreds of fans and left them crying for more until the wee hours of Sunday.
Show promoter Isau Mupfumi confirmed the shows, saying they will start at 8pm till the last person drops.
“We are striving to bring all genres at The Platinum and this week we are happy to host urban groover Trevor Dongo and dancehall musician Shinsoman. We thank all our patrons who keep supporting us by attending shows at the venue. We also applaud their level of discipline and maturity particularly on the Jah Prayzah-Soul Jah Love show. We were impressed and revellers should look forward to several incentives because they are the ones that make our venue a place to be every week,” he said.
Since its rebranding early this year, the centre has managed to host two or more artistes almost every weekend.
This is Shinsoman’s maiden appearance at the venue and he will be expected to be at his best when he meets the entertainment-crazy Mutare fans. His unique hoarse voice has made him a force to reckon with and no doubt revellers are in for a memorable and blissful night.
Some of his fine tracks include Hanzi ndakupenga, Mawayawaya, Bata panorwadza, Tasangana zvidhakwa featuring Yoz, Hatichabatika featuring Soul Jah Love and Maguetto yuts.
Trevor Dongo, a darling of female fans, is also expected to mesmerise revellers with his soulful tracks and love ballads such as Ndashamisika and Handisi kumira.
