Sister’s eulogy for deceased sister

Morris Mtisi
KNOWSTICS Academy, Lower Six student, Tanyaradzwa Porusingazi, poured every drop of her pain word by word for her departed sister, Chipo who passed on in a car crash accident on June 16, 2015.

Tanya, as she is affectionately called by her friends and loved ones, is not new to The Manica Post. She is a mesmerising singer with a nightingale’s voice and a promising future in that domain if she chooses to pursue it. She has in the past and continues to write poetry with a peculiar richness of sense and significance. The following poem demonstrates Tanya’s individuality, her simple ingenuity, magnificence and startling originality.

REST IN PEACE, CHIPO

IT’S true, heavens opened up and took my beloved.

Why did you have to leave me so soon?

Someday when we see each other again,

You will explain it all to me…I know.

Meanwhile, rest in peace BELOVED sister.

We are all on a journey; I guess you just arrived at the destination earlier than I did,

My sister, my friend, my advisor, my loved one.

Bid farewell-NO, I won’t – we will be together again.

But meanwhile rest in peace Chipo.

You are in a better place now, no troubles and heartaches.

Your soul at rest, my heart will forever beat with yours

Chipo.

My guardian Angel…rest in eternal peace Chipo.

“If I go prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto MYSELF,

That where I am you may be also,

Come along Chipo my daughter. Heavens needs another hand.”

These are the words of God: whispered on the 16th of June 2012.

Rest in peace Chayamiti Mandlovu!

Gone but never forgotten-Chipo Porusingazi.
