Six Oh drops anti-drug abuse video

WHILE some fans might have got to know him through some of his boastful and flashy lifestyle in past songs, Bulawayo rapper Six Oh has shown his more thoughtful side with the release of the video for his single, Pakuda Action, a song that encourages young people to resist drug abuse.

The single is expected to lead to the release of an EP by the young rapper. Produced by Keaitse Films, the video chronicles the rapper, who in the past has worked with such heavyweights as Stunner, as he encourages to shun the trappings of drug abuse.

In an interview with Sunday Life, Six Oh said he was moved to pen the song after seeing the devastating effects of drug abuse in Bulawayo and other cities in Zimbabwe.

“If you go out there you will see that a lot of young people are addicted to substances that not good for their health.

It’s really sad and if you dig deeper into the issue, you will see that some of the influence comes from the music that we feed them. So, I took this song as a chance for me to put things right and plough back some positivity back into society. Who knows, I might save a few young people in the process,” he said.

The rapper said the song was a prelude to an EP he had been working.

“The plan is to release the EP soon and I think the launch will be at the hip-hop sessions at the Red Café. We wanted to ride on that platform which is growing and give people some good music.

While we might have a lot going on in other spheres of life, including business, music is still our number one passion and we can never neglect our roots as hip-hop artistes,” he said.
