Norris Magwiro does not hide that he married his wife Arminda Magwiro ahead of his then steady girlfriend Eveline Mupoperi simply because Arminda was ready to settle.

This is despite the fact they are married under Marriages Act Chapter 5:11, a monogamous union.

a�?I met Mupoperi way before Arminda and I love her more. I failed to move on from her and I decided to rekindle our relationship. Arminda must be grateful that I am still married to her even though I strongly feel like I made the wrong decision by doing so, she should calm down,a�? he said as he appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Lungile Ncube.

They appeared in court after Arminda discovered Norris and Mupoperi have three children together and he even paid lobola for her. What also broke her heart was that when Norris relocated to Botswana in 2004, he took Mupoperi along with him.

a�?I sensed that there was a problem because he was no longer sending money back home let alone visit us,a�? said Arminda.

Norris was charged with bigamy, the act of going through a marriage ceremony while already married to another person. He was sentenced to three months in jail with an option of a $100 fine. .
