Solly, Keke to work with Zim artistes

During their show at Queens Sports Club on Sunday evening both artistes expressed willingness to record a live DVD with Zimbabwean artistes.

Keke of the hit song Checheche and Mahlangu of the hit song Obrigado said they would soon approach Pastor Colin Nyathi to organise the recording.

When they said this, wild cheers from the crowd of about 4 000 people resonated throughout the venue.

Speaking to Chronicle Entertainment during their breaks at the show, both artistes expressed a desire to work with the people of Zimbabwe.

“I would love to do a live recording in Bulawayo. I was very interested because of the love and favour I received from the people of God, Apostle Nyathi and his wife,” said Keke.

He said the recording would involve him working with some gospel artistes from Zimbabwe because praising God was universal.

“This will be a recording for all of us. That is why in the Bible Jesus says, Our Father, because God is for us all. So gospel music is universal and I will work with gospel artistes from Zimbabwe,” said Keke.

He added that it would be an opportunity for gospel musicians to showcase their talent.

“I was given a breakthrough when I was growing up in gospel in 2000 when Pastor Benjamin Dube took me under his wing. I am now famous and I would like people to use the fame that God gave me to create their own,” said Keke.

His award-winning counterpart Solly concurred saying: “I would love to do a live recording in Bulawayo, preferably at Harvest House International Church. We just have to talk to the powers that be on who we should work with on the live recording.
On an evening of praise and worship, Keke got on stage and belted out tune after tune from his five albums.

The singer, who is a pastor and a prophet, lit up the stage at about 4pm amid wild cheers from fans.

He sang a Chishona gospel song Munesimba Muropa raJesu with aplomb and did Alick Macheso’s, Zorai Butter and Borrowdale dances, with the multitude joining in the frenzy.

Keke then slowed the tempo and fans in worship with Cherubim, a song he dedicated to Apostle Sarah Nyathi. Keke then sang We Worship You and ended his performance with Checheche.

Not to be outdone Solly entered the stage and immediately sent the crowd into delirium with his hit Obrigado.

Fans, who included women and children, danced the night away as they sang along with the South African gospel superstar.

Solly turned the show into a church service when he prayed for people who wanted to give their lives to Jesus and for those who wanted to rededicate their lives to God.

Solly then requested the praise and worship team from Harvest House International Church to join him on stage. He then asked one of them to teach him the Borrowdale dance , which he did in style.
He ended his exhilarating performance with Wahamba nathi.

After the show Solly said: “It is humbling to hear people sing along all my songs not one or two but all of them. All praise is to God.”

Their performance brought to an end the annual Harvest House International Church Apostolic/Prophetic Conference 2012 that started on Monday last week.
