The 11-year-old player was spotted through the FA Cup, a project whose patron is Kuwadzana House of Assembly member Nelson Chamisa.
Solobala is scheduled to leave the country in two months time for a trial stint with the Italian soccer giants’ youth team.
Yesterday, Chamisa hailed the FA Cup tournament for providing Solobala with his big chance.
“The FA Cup is made up of four categories, which are the Under-12, 14, 16 and 18 age-groups with four teams under each category.
“There were trials held at Churchill High School, which were graced by the AC Milan academy coach, with thousand of players showcasing their talent.
“There were 12 players from the MP’s Cup teams selected and Solobala was chosen to go for trials,” Chamisa said.
Chamisa said it was crucial for youths to take sport seriously as one can earn a living out of it.
“The most crucial element is the sound development of our youth.
“It is not going to be education but also sport which can be a special element in our lives.
“People make money through sport and we have great names that have actually made it through sport.
“We should give sport priority, not just soccer, but every other sport like netball, cricket, volleyball.
“We are happy for the opportunity given to Solobala,” Chamisa said.
The FA Cup has David Karumakeyi, Simbarashe Rudanda, Maxwell Dube, Staphena Chisvo, Douglas Ndlovu, Donato Mugodi and Archim Mukura as board members.
