Somvubu High hosts Secretary’s Merit Awards

HUNDREDS of representatives from primary and secondary schools in Matabeleland North, officials from the Better Schools Programme Zimbabwe (BSPZ), educators and learners have gathered at Somvubu High School in Inyathi for this year’s Secretary’s Merit Awards.

Two Matabeleland North schools, Somvubu High School and AMR Sisters Primary School, are set to receive the prestigious Secretary’s Merit Award in recognition of their outstanding academic and institutional performance.

The award presentation ceremony will be officiated by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Mr Moses Mhike.

The Secretary’s Merit Awards are presented annually to schools that excel in various areas, including academic achievement, school administration and overall institutional performance.

The recognition of Somvubu High School and AMR Sisters Primary School highlights Matabeleland North Province’s continued contribution to educational excellence and the development of quality learning institutions.

Education stakeholders from across the province are expected to attend the ceremony, which celebrates the achievements of the two schools while encouraging the pursuit of excellence throughout Zimbabwe’s education sector.
