THE Southern Region Division One League swings back into action this week with a full slate of exciting midweek fixtures scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, as clubs continue their quest for promotion and regional supremacy.
Wednesday’s action will see several intriguing encounters taking place across the region. At Chiefs Village, Nkayi United welcome Imbizo in a lunchtime clash before Talenvision lock horns with Njube Spurs later in the afternoon.
In Hwange, the home side will be eager to make the most of familiar surroundings when they host Aqua Stars, while
Mosi Rovers entertain Jordan at Chinotimba in what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter.
Another fixture that is likely to attract attention is the battle between Casmyn and Bulawayo City at Turk Mine. The former Premier Soccer League outfit, Bulawayo City, will be looking to continue their push towards the top of the table against a Casmyn side known for its resilience at home.
Elsewhere, Blackrock face Bosso90 at Chakona, while Zimbabwe Saints travel to Khami for a date with Khami United. The latter fixture carries added significance given the pedigree associated with Zimbabwe Saints, one of the region’s traditional football institutions.
Action will continue on Thursday with two matches lined up at Chiefs Village. Bulawayo Warriors take on Megawatt in the first fixture before Zebra Revolution square off against VF Herentals in the afternoon.
