Star ‘found’ in SA

Mpumalanga Under-20 side that beat the Zimbabwe side 28-24 on Saturday.
Then, the Zimbabwe technical team, led by coach Brighton Chivandire, found out that he was a Zimbabwean based here.
It was his potential, character and style of play that made the coaches to call him into camp and he is expected to feature for the Presidents’ XV this afternoon in their final friendly match against the Mpumalanga Under-21.
“He (Broomberg) is eligible (to play for Zimbabwe), the fact that he is Zimbabwean first of all counts and he looked good so that is why we called him into camp because we want to have a look at him under our own conditions.
“He is coming out of an academy  but the best thing is that we put him in the same pool with our players and we see how he is going to fit into that kind of environment,” said Chivandire.
In fact the Presidents’ XV squad is big enough to field two teams and this is the reason why two games have been lined up for today at the Middelburg Rugby Club with the other one coming against a Mpumalanga Select side.
