By yesterday, his Facebook page was awash with congratulatory messages from his flock, who almost ran out of superlatives to describe the prophet with some calling him “Papa”.
But the gathering will not be starved of entertainment as Angel, who is popularly known as “Major Prophet” by his followers, has lined up top musicians for the bash as he normally says “kuti zvityise, kuti zvisemese!”
On the bill is the South African gospel artiste Sipho Makhabane, who is not new to Zimbabwean audiences as he has performed on a number of occasions including his friend Elias Musakwa’s wedding anniversary, Mahendere Brothers, Pastor Charles and Olivia Charamba as well as superstar Oliver Mtukudzi.
Mahendere Brothers, who earned the nickname “Vakomana Vemabhachi” for wearing colourful and oversized suits during their formative years, will be there to spice up the event while the Charambas will take gospel lovers on a memorable journey.
The first couple of gospel is a formidable one as they have over 50 songs between them and their music has endeared them to their fans.
Mtukudzi, who turns 60 later this month, will no doubt use the bash as a dress rehearsal for his own birthday party at the Andy Millar Hall.
