Stunning vampire epic of rotten tomatoes

Under the rubric vengeance returns, we learn from the outset a new meaning of the word “underworld”.
Defined in the dictionary as the criminal element of any population, we are to add to that the predictable coming events, which will encompass the near annihilation of all humanity.
The destruction of all the continents on earth, we are told in this film, will come within inches of success, but will ultimately fail, due to the efforts of one slim, beautiful Hollywood actress named Kate Beckinsale, born in London in 1973.
Unique in my experience of similar pes­simistic films, Celine (Beckinsale) faces, with no assistance, a world under assault by some of the most hideous monsters Hollywood has been able to conjure up.
She is given some sympathy, I note, when wearing only a swimming costume, with a pistol in each hand, she is able to fire off sev­eral hundred rounds of bullets from the two guns, (but I forgive the  moviemakers for this bit of hardware  exaggeration).
Further sympathy must be extended to the moviemakers. Since it is an accepted part of filmmaking that the hero or heroine must face conflict from his of her own side, how can anyone sympathetic to humanity’s con­tinued exis­tence fail to see the imminent danger?
The problem is solved handily by the scriptwriters who populate every govern­ment agency responsible for humanity’s sur­vival with the most stupid and idiotic collec­tion of dolts ever to take the Civil Service exams.
And since it is known that such films, made in American, area seen almost exclu­sively by teenagers, a young female character, played by India Eisely, is thrown pell-mell into the storyline.
If anyone who sees the film figures out what exactly is her role, please explain it to me. In the event that it has escaped your notice, let me say it clearly: I do not recom­mend seeing this film.
