Student nurse molests patient

Brian Dovi Makarire (32), of 42 Marriage Quarters, Mpilo Hospital, allegedly went to Ward B8 where a patient (name withheld), who is a policewoman based at Ntabazinduna Training Depot, was sleeping on a hospital bed and pulled the blankets and inserted his finger into her privates.
The incident occurred on Monday at midnight.
However, Makarire could not succeed in his “dirty trick” as the policewoman woke up after feeling someone opening her blankets and immediately felt him allegedly insert a finger into her female organ.
She pulled up her panties and pulled her thighs together.
Makarire allegedly closed her mouth with one hand while he struggled with her as he tried to insert his finger into her privates.
He was, however, overpowered by the policewoman and fled from the ward.
Makarire was not asked to plead when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Mrs Sophie Matimba to answer to a charge of indecent assault on Wednesday.
He was remanded out of custody to 11 January next year on $50 bail and ordered not to interfere with witnesses.
Appearing before the same court, a Bulawayo man was remanded out of custody to the same date on $50 bail for allegedly molesting a married woman at a wedding last week.
The two are members of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Famona and had both been invited to the wedding.
Mthandazo Mathema (30), of Number 23 Hamilton Road, Famona, allegedly fondled the complainant’s breasts in full view of wedding guests after she had turned down his love proposal.
Mathema allegedly sent his cousin to propose love on his behalf to the woman while at the wedding but she told him she was married.
The court was told that at about 4pm Mathema approached the woman from behind as she was standing watching the bridal team dance, and embraced her, touching her breasts and at the same time telling her she was beautiful.
When the woman turned to face her molester in shock, Mathema reportedly looked away and started walking away from the scene.
A report was made to the police leading to his arrest.
Mr Malvern Nzombe appeared for the State.
