Super 8 dates moved

THE finals of the John Landa Nkomo Liquor Hub Super 8 Tournament between Bulawayo Chiefs and ZPC Hwange will be played at the end of the 2016 Southern Region league season in November.

The final was initially set for end of October but has been moved to allow the league programme to conclude, according to league chairman Musa Mandaza.

Three matches remain before the end of the season.

a�?The four top teams, including the John Landa Nkomo Cup finalists Bulawayo Chiefs and ZPC Hwange, all stand a chance of winning the title so we didna��t want to disturb the momentum by breaking the league programme.

a�?The cup final will be played at the end of November when the season is over. The venue and date will be announced in due course,a�? said Mandaza.

Log leaders Bantu Rovers, second-placed Amagagasi, Bulawayo Chiefs and ZPC Hwange make up the quartet fighting for the sole ticket to represent the Southern Region in promotional playoffs involving top teams from three other regions.

The John Landa Nkomo Liquor Hub Super 8 tournament is bankrolled by businessman and Zifa Southern Region Soccer League patron Raj Modi to the tune of $5 000 and is named after the late Vice-President John Landa Nkomo.

The late Vice-President was a patron of the Zimbabwe Football Association.
