UNIVERSITY of Zimbabwe Professor of Surgery, Godfrey Muguti, says he owes his success to his former teachers.
The Professor said this on Saturday when his students, and former teachers, joined him to celebrate his 70th birthday at his Harare home.
“Today (Saturday) is like my first day with the Lord,” said Prof Muguti.
“I got time to hear my former students, relatives and my own children narrating what I did for them.
“Some of the testimonies are too emotional and direct to what I went through from my childhood to date.
“Whatever can be said about my story, I give glory to God, my parents, my teachers and my better half and the mother of my children Martha.
“My teachers shaped me to become who I am today.
“My former teachers helped me to identify my career and choice of subjects that took me to international levels.

“It is an honour to find people who appreciate your work.
“I want to thank my family for engaging renowned medical doctors and my former teachers who came to celebrate my 70th birthday,” said Prof Muguti.
A number of medical doctors hailed Prof Muguti for the role he played in shaping their careers.
