Swazi sport:Four out of six in saul’s first two, as Madira suffers first defeat

.

MBABANE Highlanders new coach Saul Chaminuka has hit the ground running collecting four off a possible six in his first two matches played three days apart, attracting so much love from the MTN Premier League of Eswatini outfit’s faithfuls.
Notably prior to his appointment last week, his first opponents Royal Leopards had maintained a 100 percent record but the former Warriors assistant coach would have none of it, drawing a point for his lads which translated into a two points lost for the police outfit in a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

With little rest, Highlanders then hit the road to Big Bend’s Mayaluka Stadium for a date against Tambuti on Wednesday night and managed to show less respect for their hosts chalking up a 2-1 away win giving Chaminuka four points out of a possible six in his first two matches.

The former Matsapha United mentor reunited with at least nine of his former players last week after replacing South Africa-born Mlungisi Professor Ngubane who quit the club in a huff last month.

Highlanders captain, Xolani Chocco Sibandze was full of praise.

“Champions will be easy to work with as he has the same style of play we are used to. He is focused on his job and we will reciprocate his commitment with positive results,” said Sibandze.

His sentiments were echoed by two Highlanders staunch fans Enock Magagula and Bheki Dlamini.

While Chaminuka was unbeaten, the Zimbabwe duo of Tarisai Changara and Dolly Zenzile Mpofu’s Moneni Pirates managed only a point out of a possible six after playing out a 2-2 against Malanti Chiefs at Somhlolo National Stadium on Saturday.

On Tuesday night at Mavuso Sports Centre, Pirates were to fall 0-1 to defending champions Mbabane Swallows courtesy of a 86th minute Kola Aladdin strike.

In Piggs Peak, after an impressive three matches winning streak, George Madira’s Piggs Peak Black Swallows fell to Mbabane City in a MTN National First Division match played at Killarney Stadium on Saturday.

A first half successfully converted penalty gave Mbabane City a priceless 1-0 victory.

Action continues this weekend with Mbabane Highlanders taking on Vovovo on Sunday afternoon while Moneni Pirates will take on Tambuti at Mayaluka on the same day.
