The relatively untapped African market presents vast opportunities for Indian businesses, and enhancing synergies between the two can help in the realisation of mutual socio-economic growth, Vice President Dr Constantino Chiwenga has said.
The VP was speaking at the opening ceremony of the Africa Conclave on India-Africa Partnership this morning, that was organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry.
VP Chiwenga is leading a multi-sectoral Zimbabwean delegation scouting for investments to give impetus to the country’s economic development that President Mnangagwa is championing.
“As we look towards creating one future, it is clear that by enhancing the synergy between our respective nations and regions, we can achieve unprecedented socio-economic growth,” said VP Chiwenga.
“This event is a perfect opportunity for Africa and India to forge strong business partnerships, guided by the African Union Framework of continent-to-country strategic partnership, a dynamism presented by India and individual African states.
“Africa’s emerging markets present a wealth of opportunities for Indian businesses. By investing in and partnering with African enterprises, Indian companies can expand their global footprint.
“This can be achieved through a combination of India’s technological prowess and Africa’s rich natural resources, thereby creating unique opportunities for mutually beneficial collaborations.”
India, the world’s fifth-largest economy, has already shown confidence in Zimbabwe through several projects in the country.
