Tanzania’s President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan arrives for SADC Summit

Tanzania’s President and chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Organ Troika on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan has arrived in Zimbabwe for the bloc’s Extraordinary

Summit that will focus on the security situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Dr Hassan landed at Robert Mugabe International Airport this morning and was warmly received by Zimbabwe’s Attorney General, Mrs Virginia Mabhiza.

The Summit brings together regional leaders.

The SADC Organ Troika is responsible for promoting peace and security within the region, and this high-level meeting underscores the bloc’s commitment to finding lasting solutions to the challenges in the DRC.

Discussions are expected to cover regional security efforts, diplomatic engagements, and possible intervention strategies to support stability in the mineral-rich DRC.
