Technology can drive sustainable development

Embracing technology can unlock unprecedented career opportunities and drive sustainable development across various sectors.

This was said by Ministry of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services chief director Mr Prince Sibanda during the African Strategic Solutions Conference in Harare on Thursday.

He was representing Minister Tatenda Mavetera

The conference, running under the theme: “Harnessing Technology for Career Advancement” is meant to provide professionals with strategies for leveraging technology for career advancement.

Mr Sibanda said the government made significant strides in terms of technological integration and adoption.

“This conference is particularly timely and relevant for Zimbabwe and the African continent,” he said. “We are witnessing a remarkable era of technological advancements that are transforming the way we live, work, and interact.

“Our National Development Strategy 1 and Vision 2030 have placed a strong emphasis on leveraging technology to achieve our goals of becoming an upper-middle-income economy.

“We have seen remarkable progress in areas such as mobile connectivity, digital financial services, and e-government initiatives. These achievements serve as a testament to the resilience and innovation of our people.”
