EIGHTEEN-YEAR-OLD Hwange-based electrical technician, Inxys Moyo, has invented a theoretical electric device to send satellites to the earth’s orbit using electromagnets.
Moyo, who is an apprentice, says he has a huge interest in space launching.
“I have an interest in space launch in order for us to answer questions about our place in the universe and the history of our solar system.
“Through addressing the challenges related to human space exploration, we expand technology, create new industries, and help to foster a peaceful connection with other nations,” he said.
Moyo has been studying astrophysics at home since 2018.
“I have invented a theoretical electric device. It’s a powerful device capable of throwing objects to space similar to the American Spin-launch.
“It is still theory, but I have tested, and calculated it several times, and it can work.
“I have not yet built the model since I don’t have the required materials. I am looking for roughly US$10 000 for the materials required.
“If I can get sponsors to assist me, I can build the model. Currently, I only have a transformer,” he said.
