A NUMBER of Christians ignored the rain as they prayed to usher in the new year on Saturday night.

As most Christians want to begin the new year with prayers, a number of church leaders conducted church services under the banner “Crossover Night” where some spoke positively about the new year. Among the leaders were Anglican priest, Kudakwashe Madzime, of Budiriro Parish, who urged people to pray for families, unity and national peace.

Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries founder, Prophet Walter Magaya, pronounced 2023 a year of upgrading, saying the theme will work well with those who believe.

Apostle Stephen Mangwanya of the New United Apostolic Church urged Christians to win more souls to Christ as a way of national healing.

Some families spent the better part of New Year celebrations on Sunday with their children at various recreational facilities around the country.
