THE leader of Vadzidzi Apostolic Fact church got himself in trouble when he failed to control his feelings and slept with a 15-year-old congregant.
Tinashe Moyo (24) was arrested on charges of having sexual intercourse with a minor after the teenager told her friend about their sexual escapades.
The friend failed to keep the secret and reported the matter to elders who then reported the matter to police.
It is reported that Prophet Moyo proposed love to the teenager sometime in July 2018 and the girl agreed.
Without wasting time, they started being intimate and kept the matter a secret until December when the girl got excited and told her friend.
She narrated about her sexual experiences with the man of the cloth which got her friend worried resulting in her telling elders.
After receiving the shocking news, they rushed to report the matter to police leading to Prophet Moyo’s arrest.
Appearing before Zvishavane magistrate Shepherd Mjanja, Moyo never wasted the court’s time and he pleaded guilty citing that he loved the girl and intended to marry her.
He begged the court to forgive him as he was in love with the girl and she had consented to have sex with him.
The magistrate slapped him with 20 months imprisonment of which eight months was suspended on condition of good behaviour for three years and for the remaining months he will serve 420 hours of community service at Mandava Clinic.
