Expelled former Zanu-PF Mashonaland West provincial chairman, Mr Temba Mliswa and four others arrested at the weekend for disrupting the ruling party’s rally at Sengwe Business Centre is still in police custody.Mr Mliswa was arrested together with former Zanu-PF Harare provincial youth chairman Mr Jimu Kunaka, aspiring Chinhoyi constituency candidate in the 2013 harmonised elections Prosper Gavanga, Munyaradzi Mugoneza and Farai Kuvheya.

By late yesterday, the four were still in police custody at Magunje Police Station and were expected to be transferred to Chinhoyi CID Law and Order section.

They are expected to appear in court today for breaching law and order.

Although police were not commenting on the case yesterday, Mr Mliswa and his two-vehicle convoy swarmed the venue of the rally that was being addressed by Zanu-PF secretary for Administration, Dr Ignatius Chombo.

Politburo members Dr Douglas Mombeshora and Cde Josaya Hungwe and central committee member Cde Philip Chiyangwa were also present.
Mr Mliswa allegedly provoked Zanu-PF supporters at the rally in a bid to cause violence.

Speaking at the rally, Dr Chombo urged Zanu-PF supporters not to fear Mr Mliswa and follow the ruling party which has a history of serving the people.

“People should not pay for things that come from Government peddled as gifts by Temba Mliswa,” he said.

“Headmen and chiefs should not be used to turn against Government by saying everything that comes from Government is coming from Temba.”

Mr Mliswa has a pending case of stealing eight rifles from a former Mhangura white farmer at the Chinhoyi magistrates’ court.
