Test debut for Dangamvura cricket star

DANGAMVURA-BASED Mountaineers cricketer, Vincent Masekesa, has today made his test match debut for the Zimbabwe senior men’s international cricket team against Bangladesh.

The Westside cricket club skipper received his official game day cap from veteran spinning leader, Wellington Masakadza at Chattogram Ground in Bangladesh.

Masekesa said: “For today when you wear the cap, know that you are no longer just representing yourself. You are now an extension of the place of which you come from, Dangamvura and every Zimbabwean back at home.”

Zimbabwe opted to bat first, before ending the day on 227 for 9. Zimbabwe Nick Welch 54(133) Sean Williams 67(166) and Bangladesh Taijul Islam 5-69 Nayeem Hasan 2-42.
